Small businesses : Laines Hair Accessories

02/08/2013 20:22

So as some may already know, I discover many of these boutiques for children's clothing and accessories via instagram. It is because of instagram that I was able to find Laines Hair Accesories. I have to say purchasing from overseas with an at home business, it might leave you a bit skeptical but from the moment I spoke to Ofalaine, she made me feel very comfortable and assured me about my purchase from her. What attracted me at first was her dresses and not too long after I discovered she had these goose feather headbands I had been searching for high and low! Now I've come across other buisnesses who had these head bands but the prices were $15.00 and up and that was a bit steep for me especially since they weren't OTT (over the top). When I had seen her collections and saw the headbands and their prices, I jumped at the chance to buy! Now, she is located in Australia so the shipping took about a week but well worth it, I am in love with the head bands and so is the family. She handled everything so nicely and I was very pleased (to say the least) with my puprchase. I have asked her to write a small bio so we can get to know her a bit & I'll have photos of my purchase as well as some items that she has. I completely vouch for her and her adorable creations so I hope you will all love her items as well , which I am sure you will, Enjoy! X0X0X CIAO- Jaylin!

From Ofalaine: My names Ofalaine Sechi, owner of Laines Hair Accessories.. I'm a stay at home mummy of 3 gorgeous angels.. My daughter was my inspiration to start my own lil business and make hair accessories. Its always hard to find something at the store to go with her outfits so we tried making our own and now its been 7 months since I've started and its going awesome. Now I'm selling kids clothing. This has been my dream to work at home and be with my kids all the time. I love being my own boss and working in my own time....

As many of you know Instagram (IG) is an app that smart phones users can utilize. I myself just got this app about 4 months ago & I I happen to really like it; besides being able to edit your photos in a somewhat professional manner for FREE you can actually find hundreds a vendors via the community of IG. One of those vendors happened to be a lovely woman, Paige Gillard, who sews and makes beautiful dresses, shorts, pajamas etc... THE WHOLE 9 including shoes, bed sets and so much more. Aside from the absolutely adorable prints and fabrics she uses, the prices are reasonable so I believe your getting a great deal especially since so many of the items are one of a kind! There's nothing better than original piece for your little princess to wear is there not? I didn't think so! haha Anywho you can add this lovely lady on facebook by liking her page, LOVEABOO (capital letters aren't necessary) and from there you can see all of the fabrics she has available and once you've chosen that just shoot her an email and she'll take it from there. I look forward to getting a dress from her that I absolutely have to have among a few other fabrics I have my eye on. She is also currently holding a giveaway on her facebook page, I'll provide the details below in a photo alongside some other photos of items that she has created! Enjoy everyone! -X0X0X0 CIA0, Jaylin!

Heidi Klum's Truly Scrumptious Line for babies/children

01/27/2013 19:40

So today I thought I'd briefly blog about Heidi Klum's new line "Truly Scrumptious" clothing line at Babiesrus. Now I'd like to say that I am not one to just buy items because a super model such as Heidi Klum has her face & name on it. I personally buy clothes (in general, mine, my daughters etc...) not because of the brand but because A. Quality, B. Style (color, print, design etc...) & C. Price! Now if you regularly shop at Babiesrus, you (should) already know about the rewards club and the benefits of buying a good amount of items there. I like to shop there because of the wide variety of items they have to offer and they do often carry great stuff at reasonable prices. Anywho getting back to the clothing line; I had seen the commercials advertising for her line & I have to admit, I wasn't really a fan to begin with (nothing personal, I just wasn't). On one particular occasion we had stopped in at Babiesrus to buy my daughter a humidifier & on the way to that isle, long behold, the Truly Scrumptious line was front & center! Now I stopped & of course had to look because the pop of colors drew my attention. I immediately noticed the bright pink, bubble jacket they had out & I fell instantly in love. Previously I had been searching high & low for a pink bubble jacket for my daughter for quite some time. I wanted to purchase one I had seen at the Polo for kids store but they didn't have her size (not one she could wear for the fall/winter anyways). So as soon as I had seen it I jumped at the chance to search through the sizes and BAM! Long behold I find her size. Now the exact price I do not recall, however, I know it was anywhere from $25.99-$32.99. The jacket has gold star imprinted round buttons (which unfortunately cannot be seen clearly via the photo) and a rouffle trim around the collar, wrist area of the sleeves & along the sides/center of the coat with a puffed out bottom. I did have a $5.00 rewards to use so that benefitted my purchase. Next to the jacket was a beautiful pink hat with a light (lilac colored) purple and pink flower thats went nicely with the jacket as well so of course I had to pick it up ^_^ haha The hat was $9.00 I believe. We recently returned to Babiesrus about 3 weeks ago & Heidi Klum had come out with what I am assuming to be here Spring collection. Now the Winter collection I wasn't too crazy about (besides my obvious purchases) but the Spring collection was a whole new side of Heidi I hadn't seen yet & I was loving it! I actually ended up buying a little mini skirt (which will be paired with some sort of cropped leggings of course) & a floral/striped legging that was too good pass up. I have taken photos of all the items & on the skirt and leggings the price tags are still attached so you can see the cost. I have to say I am growing more & more fond of her lines and I look forward to more items lke these. Overall I'd have to give the Trule Scrumptious line a 6/10 so far and I hope to raise that score in the future! X0X0X0 CIA0! -Jaylin. P.S. The photo of the jacket was not at all photogentic when I took it (to say the least) for some reason it looks blotchy and the beautiful details can't really be seen; unfortunately it takes away from the beauty of it but if you google it you'll have no problem getting a better image, sorry!

As a mom, currently a full-time student, I know how difficult it can be when it comes to purchasing children’s clothing. Fortunately I've been blessed with family & friends who were very generous with my baby shower gifts & by those means was able to purchase a great deal of things including some of my daughter's clothing. Some people may find it silly to dress up an infant in expensive or semi-expensive clothing because it will not be used for a long period time. I beg to differ because are these not the most memorable times of their and our lives? We take constant photos of them, growing, getting smarter, looking more like mommy and daddy (whoever) so why can't they look they're best? It's not the length of time or amount of use they'll get out of wearing those clothes but the memories they'll make in them. With that said, I don't mean go out and buy a $100.00 dress for a basic occasion haha but don't shy away from spending 20-40 dollars on an outfit that they can use a few times. It's ok to indulge the beautiful fashionable creations if you have the means to do so. I personally was a shopaholic pre-mommy-hood. I love clothes, accessories, the works! Having a daughter changed it all for me. I still buy myself items on occasion but I get such a wonderful high off of buying her clothing & accessories. I always make sure & always will make sure my daughter looks  her best. One place which I never used to shop at for myself was GAP, I received a gift card from a family member for babyGap and I have to honestly say I was a bit hesitant. However, I went to a location close to my home and I stopped in to see what they had for the children... Needless to say now I am addicted! Their clothes are just thee cutest! A lot of the outfits fit my style for her perfectly and even match some of my pieces of clothing which is a big thumbs up! Although, the prices can be a tad bit "up there" ranging as high as in the 40's depending on how new the item is and what size category your child is in, I admit in my personal experience the quality is well worth it. With that said, I spent the whole gift card ($50.00 USD) that day. I was completely happy with my purchase and her clothes, all except the black leggings I bought, still fit her to this day and she is almost 5 months old (meaning the clothes have been in her armoire for 3 1/2 months, which I think is was exceptional because some infants only get to wear their clothes one time due to such rapid growth spurts. I'll be posting photos of the clothes I purchased for her that day. I will also be posting photos of my last visit to babyGap about 2 weeks ago (New Years Eve to be precise). Her father picked out this gorgeous floral dress & we ordered a band jacket online that was too adorable to pass up. Unfortunately I do not have the prices for the older items I purchased but I post the amounts with the latest 2 items we picked up for her. Anyone else shop at babyGap? Think it's too expensive, just right, the quality fit the price? Leave me your feed back; I'd love to know what everyone thinks! X0X0 CIA0! -Jaylin

Please ignore the wrinkles in the band jacket, since it was shippied to us in this cold, cold weather this is how it arrived. It will be ironed prior to her wearing it of course! lol Any questions regarding any of the above items please feel free to send me a message!
